The next generation of software developers were given a taste of reality when groups of students from Fife visited one of Scotland’s leading technology companies, Zonal.

The visits to Zonal’s Tanfield HQ by more than 50 Software Development Foundation Apprentices from Glenrothe’s, Auchmuty and St Columba’s High Schools, were given insight into how their qualification is relevant in the workplace.  The visits, the first of their kind, were organised by Fife Council and Zonal’s Head of HR, Catriona Dick.

Catriona said:

“At Zonal we are always on the hunt for software savvy employees who have the right qualifications, skills and hunger to create award winning solutions for our customers who operate in the exciting and fast-paced hospitality sector.

We were delighted to show off our facility at Tanfield and explain to the students what they can expect from work, and importantly what employers are seeking when it comes to recruitment.”

A family business for almost 40 years, Zonal is the UK’s number one provider of cutting edge technology systems for the hospitality sector providing a suite of solutions from EPoS to online booking tools and order and pay apps.
