These solutions include mobile apps for ordering and web apps for engaging with consumers either through loyalty or reservations. By linking these solutions to Zonal’s EPoS (till) system, we help hospitality brands to understand their customers’ behaviour and preferences, enabling them to excel in an increasingly competitive market.

What you’ll do

The IT department provides a service to Zonal and its group of companies. Our head office is located in Edinburgh. 

Zonal is open for business 365 days per year, with certain departments open from 7:30am to 1am.

The IT department normally operates from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, although it is not unusual for some work to be completed “out of hours” and weekends. The Team runs an on-call rota for out of hours support, covering weekdays and weekends.

The main purpose of the IT Support role is to provide 1st line PC software/hardware support for the staff & perform maintenance on existing setups.


Your Main Role Responsibilities 


  • Support Software on all Zonal PC’s.
  • Perform routine daily checks on all the network servers & network systems.
  • Ensure backups are performed successfully and resolve any logged errors.
  • Support of HEAT {SQL Help Desk software} and Navision {Company Database}
  • Maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory domain environment.
  • Assist users with IT issues where necessary.
  • Document existing/new procedures
  • Look to automate manual tasks using MS orchestration and MS system Centre.
  • Installs computer hardware and software.
  • Attends the company’s premises in the event of an equipment breakdown.
  • Tests equipment identifies faults and where possible carries out repairs on site.
  • Refers more complex faults back to the manufacturer for repair.
  • Keep all software used legal, licensed and recorded.

Who you are

  • Skills, Knowledge & Experience We Look For
  • HNC, HND or Degree in Computing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop versions including windows10 in a commercial environment.
  • Experience of database applications {SQL/Navision/HEAT}
  • Experience Supporting MS Office applications.
  • Experience with Backup, MS Exchange, Antivirus Products, Virtualisation.
  • At least 1 MCP in a Microsoft desktop or office application
  • Planning and organisational skills; able to establish efficient and appropriate plans for
  • Self and others and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst still ensuring objectives are met.
  • Customer service; understands and responds to customer needs (internal and external) and exceeds expectations where possible.
  • Communication and team working; works co-operatively with others to achieve a common goal and communicates information in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
