What you’ll do

This role sits within Managed Services which is part of the wider Technical Services business unit. Our suite of SaaS, distributed systems and product integrations help our customers run their businesses, providing their customers with industry leading hospitality technology products.

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll bring your expertise to build and run systems behind our industry leading solutions, ensuring our systems are highly available, secure with perform appropriate to customer needs.

The makeup of our systems is changing rapidly, and you’ll play a key part in helping us drive this forward. We’re moving to a hybrid cloud landscape using the right technologies for the best outcomes.

You and your team will:

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships acting as the glue between in-house development and platform teams
  • Design, deploy and maintain robust, self-healing, and highly available platforms
  • Continually improve processes, stability, and recovery times through observability, monitoring and alerting
  • Balance functional, operational, and ongoing management requirements
  • Automate everything, document everything
  • Bring a streetwise perspective to problem solving, reduction of complexity to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-effective services
  • Participate in Incident Response
  • Play a key role in change management, continuous delivery, and security

Who you are

Key skills we would like you to have: –

  • Solid experience working with Infrastructure as Code, Ansible or Terraform
  • Monitoring, tracing and observability techniques and frameworks
  • Networking, security concepts and protocols in an API centric environment
  • In depth knowledge of Windows or Linux systems engineering within virtualised or Azure infrastructure
  • Scripting and operations within complex provisioning and deployment scenarios
  • CI/CD tooling and techniques within an Azure DevOps environment
  • Good understanding of availability and stability design patterns

Ideally, you’ll have a background delivering core infrastructure or internet-facing services within virtualised or public cloud environments using DevOps practices.

  • A self-starter, a quick to spot opportunities and new capabilities in technologies
  • A champion of consistency, security, and stability
  • A strong collaborator, organised, with a safe pair of hands
  • A team player that enjoys influencing change and continual improvement
  • Comfortable communicating to mixed audiences
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience
