MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support Solutions on all Zonal Servers and Desktops..

· Perform routine daily checks on all the network servers & network systems.

· Ensure backups are performed successfully and resolve any logged errors.

· Support of HEAT {SQL Help Desk software} and Navision {Company Database}

· Maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory domain environment.

· Automate where possible any repetitive manual tasks.

· Assist users with IT issues where necessary.

· Document existing/new procedures

· Installs computer hardware and software.

· Attends the company’s premises in the event of an equipment breakdown.

· Tests equipment identifies faults and where possible carries out repairs on site.

· Refers more complex faults back to the manufacturer for repair.

· Keep all software used legal, licensed and recorded.

· To create software images for installation on Zonal Shipped PC’s

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential

Possesses a university degree/college diploma in a related field, and 5+ years’ experience working in a technical support environment within an on call 24/7 environment.

At least 1 MCP in Windows OS, Server, SQL server or Exchange.

Demonstrates solid knowledge of supported systems and products including:

· Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (versions 2007, 2012)

· Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2008, 2012, 2016)

· Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (versions 2007, 2012, latest build)

· Microsoft Windows Server (versions 2008, 2012, 2016)

· Experience of database applications {SQL/Navision/HEAT}

· Experience Supporting MS Office applications.

· Experience with Backup, MS Exchange, Antivirus Products, Virtualisation.

· Demonstrates solid knowledge in terms of Problem Management, Change Management, Implementation Processes, Configuration and Release Management

· Displays high attention to problem description, detail, and impact

· Is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and customer-service oriented

· Maintains a sound understanding of emerging technologies, tools and scripting languages

· Possesses solid communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Customer service; understands and responds to customer needs (internal and external) and exceeds expectations where possible.

CONTEXT

The IT department provides a service to Zonal (with a head office in Edinburgh, Midlothian and Oxfordshire and approx 150 field-based employees). Zonal is open for business 365 days per year, with certain departments open from 7:30am to 1am t.

The IT department normally operates from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, although it is not unusual for some work to be done “out of hours” and weekends. The Team runs an on call rota for out of hours support, covering weekdays and weekends.
